Jyoti Amge from Nagpur, India has been declared as the World’s shortest woman by Guinness World Records.

The 18 year old Jyoti is only 2ft 06inches (24.7 inches) tall and beat the previous record holder Bridgette Jordan from Sandoval, Illinois, who stands 2ft 3inches. Until today Jyoti was considered the world’s shortest teenager, but the Guinness official declaration came on her 18^th birthday.

On her achievement Jyoti Amge said “It is wonderful to celebrate my 18^th birthday with a new world record, it’s like an added birthday present. I feel grateful to be this size, after all if I weren’t small and had not achieved these world records I might never have been able to visit Japan and Europe, and many other wonderful countries.”

Though Jyoti is a victim of dwarfism call achondroplasia after her 1^st birthday, she attends high school regularly and dreams to become a Bollywood star.

But the record for the shortest woman in human history remains with 2ft tall Pauline Musters from Netherlands, who died in 1895.
