Liang Yaoqiang has been convicted for life imprisonment as he stabbed his girlfriend more than 200 times.
A seven-member jury unanimously found him guilty of murdering Yang Xiuyu, 35, in September 2009 after she had sex with another man.
Forensic report showed 209 knife wounds, including 80 wounds in the head.
Judge Clare-Marie Beeson said that some of the forensic photographs showing the stab wounds were the “worst images” she has ever seen and there had been several opportunities to avoid that vicious brutality.
In the year 2009 Liang and Yang arrived together from China and Yang started an affair with another man, a bus driver. Liang discovered two use condoms in a dustbin in their apartment and another outside, court said.
40 year old Liang stabbed his girlfriend in the course of a row over the affair.
Wearing a white shirt and red tie, Liang was calm when the verdict was read out but cried when the judge mentioned his 14-year-old daughter.
