There is a recent volcanic eruption of Mount Tavurvur on the island of New Britain in Papua New Guinea. Many international flights diverted their paths and people were evacuated because the volcano is belching fire and ash to the height of 60,000 feet above sea level. The volcano was last erupted in 1937, 1994, 2006 and 2013.
Here is a beautiful video filmed by Phil McNamara, a Townsville taxi driver from Queensland, Australia, who was holidaying with her wife Linda McNamara and friends near the area. McNamara shot this amazing video from a boat that shows one volcanic explosion, a sonic boom can be seen blasting through the clouds and clouds are rippling at the shockwaves.
The video has been uploaded on YouTube channel bacobjee and gone viral.
