German commercial vehicles company Daimler AG has unveiled its self-driving truck Mercedes-Benz Future Truck 2025 at the 2014 International Commercial Vehicles show in Hannover. Future Truck 2025 has autonomous driving system and can travel in the highway without any assistance from drivers.
Similar to the autopilot mode on an aircraft, FT2025 is equipped with radar sensors, cameras and blind-spot system for safe navigation. The driverless truck can achieve maximum speed up to 80 kilometres per hour and is expected to hit the road in 10 years.
